After doing a fair amount of reading here, I started trying to OC my puter. Here's what I did so far:
Test #1: FSB set to 220 (x14=3.08Mhz), DRAM freq. to 266. Vcore was set to auto (~1.58). I ran 3dm2001se and made it through with a score of 16,320. My very 1st score w/o any OCing was ~16,100. CPU temp after this according to asus probe was 44C.
Test #2 FSB set to 230 (x14=3.220Mhz), DRAM still at 266. Vcore was set to auto (~1.58). 3dmark crashed about 1/3 of the way through.
Test #3 same as #2 except I upped the Vcore to 1.60 and left the 0.1v option disabled. I assume this means the highest I can set my Vcore is 1.7??? 3dmark crashed again. The temp immediately after was 50C.
So how does this approach look so far? What else should I be doing to OC? It looks like something between 3.08 and 3.220 is what I'm likely to get out of this 2.8c chip, but I know there are other variables to change. Also, I can't seem to find out how to change the mem timings in my BIOS. What would be recommended for the hyperX3200 RAM? Thanks a lot. Also, I know 3dmark isn't the best way to check for stability, but I figured it was adequate for now.
