I haven't heard anything on the 4th gen as the 3rd gen has only been out about 8-9 months, but the Maxtor 15k rpm drive is supposedly faster. I have to say, I'm very impressed with the new Atlas 10k IV and its pretty cheap ($180 for a 36gb drive). I'm very tempted on buying another one....
