Best 19" CRT?
Hey, I know everything comes down to opinion at some point but I've been having problems finding actual specs and decent reviews of monitors lately. (Kinda like buying a car.. can't find simple things like 0-60 performance, or gas mileage even on manufacturer's websites. Nothing else, including monitors, are much different)
What is the best flat screen 19" CRT that you all know of, for $600.00 or less? This isn't for professional use, but I want something with a good warranty that I won't feel a need of replacing.. for a very long time.. except maybe to get a bigger one =)
I want something that will really have a crisp clean picture when Half Life 2 finally comes out.. obviously the Windows desktop should look fine if DVDs and games are perfectly displayed.
I'm looking for every penny to be towards the CRT, I'm not much for monitors with snazy speakers or USB hubs. I feel that sort of design takes away from the display - I only want a good CRT itself, not a "complete package" monitor. If that's even possible.
The NEC Multisync FP and ViewSonic P95f seem good, but.. I'm still not sure. Also, does a DVI connection matter? I have an ATI Radeon 9700 PRO with the digital/dvi connector, but it doesnt seem like it matters.. does it? (from what I've read, I haven't used it myself).
In any case, I appreciate your feedback.. and again, please, no "bargain" deals, Frys specials, hoky monitors with mics, speakers, and hubs attached.. etc.. I really want every cent of a monitor I can afford.
