I've got an Asus K8V motherboard. The internal sound card has 3 ports. Normally I use it with a 4 speaker system. When you have it configured this way, port 1 is "line in", port 2 is "front" and port 3 is "rear". When you have it set for headphones, port 3 becomes "microphone".

This is very annoying because it seems I have to physically mess with the ports to use TeamSpeak and my boom microphone. Can I plug my mic into "line-in"? I've tried this and haven't had much luck.
