I've been doing a ton of research on this topic (probably should have done it before I bought the system) and I am reading that I cannot increase the multiplier of the q6600 above 9x? I know I did actually read reviews on Newegg of people saying "Ohh its really easy to overclock on this board and I have the Q6600 CPU" Are they just full of crap?
I read this on the nforce overclocking pdf...
http://www.nvidia.com/docs/CP/45121/...erclocking.pdf
"Note: At the time of this document’s release, only the multiplier of the Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor is fully unlocked. Therefore, this is the only Core 2 Duo CPU where you can change the multiplier from its default value. All other Intel Core 2 Duo processors are hard locked and you will not be able to adjust the multiplier."
I am somewhat new to overclocking, I have overclocked my previous 2 machines and it has always been pretty easy through the bios by increasing the multiplier and voltage etc.
So can I overclock this setup above a 2.4? If so how can I? I would like to get around a 3.0-3.2 on air. Thanks in advance.
