SATA Drive are independent each drive sits on his own connector and there is No slaves.
The BIOS has a setting that let you decide which one is the Boot drive.
Assuming that your computer boots correctly from the drive with the Windows boot.
Boot the computer anal look into the Computer Management/Disk Management. The new Drive probably would be there and needs to be partitioned and formatted.
