Need some more Mint help. Booting issue.
I posted a while ago about a microsever vs a NAS device. I ended up getting an HP proliant microserver. I finally got around to installing Linux Mint. The server does not have an optical drive so rather that screw around with putting one in just to install the OS I made a bootable thumb drive and installed and booted from it. Everything went fine and I was up and running. I installed to an ext4 partition on the SSD which came with the server. I installed Mint 13 LTS. I downloaded the latest update. When I did this it asked if I wanted a updated grub file which I declined. Anyway, I pulled the thumb drive and when I rebooted it would not boot. Replaced the thumb drive and it boots fine. It looks like the grub is located on the thumb drive for some reason. There seems to be a grub on the internal HD. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have already posted on the Mint forum but not gotten any responses.
