What make of card did you get? I would have gone with a GF4MX440 or 460 myself, however the lack of nVidia's nfinite engine and other features was a bit disconcerting. However, the GF4MX DDR series should be able to play a lot of todays games at 1600x1200x32, and almost all games in the next few years at 1024x768.

I must say that the 2D quality of this card is amazing. Comapared to the Radeon LE in my other system, the text definition at 1600x1200x32@85 is noticebly sharper with the GF4.
As in the subject, my WinFast A170 produces top quality 2D, and is well better than I thought it should be.

A friend of mine bought a GF2 MX card and the screen looks VERY BAD in my opinion (but I did not say anything to him). However, I do not think it is the card that produces the bad image. I would like to attribute it to the bad monitor. His monitor is at least five or six years old (a ViewSonic 15GS).

To get the top quality of image, a good monitor is a must in addition to a good video card. To me, WinFast A170 plus my veteran ViewSonic A75f is a perfect combo.

The only shortcoming of the video card is that my PowerDVD can not detect the hardware acceleration that GF4 MX4400 has (VPE), even though the playback quality is top knotch. Maybe I should wait for NVDVD to see what Nvidia can bring to us.
