XP Second Edition will be out this august. If you have XP you'll get a free upgrade.
Also the next operating systems by Microsoft are Longhorn (in 2003) and Blackcomb (64-bit in 2004)

It's not XP Second Edition, it's only a service pack.

Windows 98SE was only a service pack for Windows 98, but Microsoft sold it as a second edition anyway.

Microsoft will be releasing a service pack that's freely downloadable (just like previous service packs for Windows NT & 2000) sometime around August, but I've also read something about a possible release of a "Windows XP Second Edition" in 2003 before they publish Longhorn since Longhorn's release date may have been pushed back to 2004.

Am I the only one that finds a service pack BETA really ironic. I mean beta's are meant to have bugs and to get ridded of them. So microsoft is releasing something to get rid of bugs, but it will just cause more problem
Gotta love that, but i guess they gotta test it somehow I'm sure not gonna use SP1 beta
