some questions about my new gf4 and some other stuff.....

ahoy hoy, i just got my visiontek ti4200 card and im liking it alot so far. its a hella lot better than my crappy gf2 mx400!!! anyways, i have a few probs with it. first off, in 3dmark2001, the nature test goes at like 11 fps. its extemely slow. and also the one with all the little guys shooting each other(vertex shader?) goes at like 5 fps and is extremly jumpy. i find this odd and it also lowers my 3dmark score by alot. also, when i go into dxdiag and go to display, AGP texture acceleration is greyed out and its not working. i find this odd and am thinking i prolly should have that working....any thoughts? im running the 29.20 dets just in case anyone wants to know.

another question. are there ram sinks i can get for my card? this one didnt come with any and im an ocer with everything so i want more performace dammit! lol. i read that the gf4's use a ball grid array or something and i suppose that means i need a certain kind of heat sink but i also dont remember if the grid array was only on the 4400 and 4600. also, i have the 128 meg version of the card and read that it has slower ram than the 64 meg version. mine was clocked at 250/444 and i know the 64 meg is clocked at 250/500 and that is pretty much proof on that but just wanted to confirm with some other people. right now i have my card clocked at 275/560. i will go higher but i will lock up after like an hour of gameplay on games like gta3 or mohaa. i had it at 585 for a while but it starting tearing after about 20 min.

    thanks for your time everyone.

What actually is your 3D Mark 2001 score? Try reinstalling the drivers or installing different drivers.

5207 which is really low. i dont understand. i built my friend a comp and he has pretty much the exact same stuff except he only has 256 meg or ram and a gf3 ti200 oced to 240/530 and he breaks 5500. i find that odd.......

The ti4200, with the exception of the suma, do not have the bga ram. They have the same ram as the ti200 in some cases so you can just get any ramsinks that will fit a gf3 and those will work fine. Also, just making sure but is AA enabled? That can be a problem. Umm, did you change any other settings in the vid settings or BIOS? If so, tweak those a little and see what happens. That is a low score but maybe it could be caused by the fact that you are running on an older chipset with sdram and the gf4 is a large bandwidth lover.
