How can I become a mod?
lately, this place has started going to crap, , i like sharky's, i learn and i teach, but spaming and useless crap is seriously giving me a head and "if u dont like it, leave it" is not my still, i want to stay here, I'd like to take some action and clean this place, i thought it'd help if i was a mod.(i've noticed some of the mods, don't take much action, and those who do, are probably having worse headaches than me)

Nothing to see here. Move along.

You don't ask them they approach you. You have to be 18 or older. Kinda like joining the mob.

Don't run with scissors!!
Sharky doesn't think people under 18 are capable or modding the forum?

its due to legal issues surrounding the fact that AOL Time Warner was sued for having underage mods.

I don't think anyone under the age of 18 should be modding a forum. Most people wouldn't have respect.

I was a admin of a forum & im 16. I got respect from almost every poster there. Age shouldn't matter at all. It's if they can actually do the job that counts.

Ummm, they don't. It's the legal precedent that is of concern to INT Media Group.

Who would sue INT Media Group over some underage mods at Sharky Forums? I don't know why anyone would even care but whatever.

why do you think I stay away from AOL at all costs
they're a shady company ('specially they're software)

Gluegun would be a good mod for the music forum
whenever I take a look in there he is helping people with this and that
just a thought

GO BENGALS!!!!!
I really don't care about AOL this time in my life. I don't even know anyone in my neighborhood that has AOL. In fact, I don't even know anyone that has the fixed-wireless internet like I have. They are all stuck on 56k dial-up.

Please take this as constructive critizism, and don't get mad at me, but I've seen a few things from you that I wouldn't really feel secure when having you as a moderator.
First off it appears when n00b's are posting questions you tend to jump down their backs and treat them with disrespect. You've posted numerous times that their should either be a general computer knowledge or some kind of test used before a person can join the forums. You appear to be too concerned with the lack of knowledge.
Secondly, the first thing Moderators must do (which I'm assuming since i'm not one) is that they must have respect for EVERYONE and treat them kindly. The goal of sharkyforums is not to be the smartest forums in the world, the goal is to teach, learn, and become one with the computer (or something like that ). To do this n00b's and oldies and middle of the road PC gurus all have a place at sharky, and none should be excluded.
