headphone recommendation...
yes, this is another headphone thread!
anyways, my question is which headphones are the best sounding for classical music? i love classical piano but i don't want headphones that will be so unbalanced in their sound that the low notes will drown out the mid or high range.
btw, i will mainly be using my headphones with a sony discman
and my price range is around $50 or so...and i'd prefer to not buy headphone amps. comfort is also a HUGE priority...and portability is also very very important (however, i do NOT want ear buds...no no no no no....). headphones that are pretty well insulated (to block out some outside noise, but not necessarily noise cancelling) would be nice...
and as for the bass, which i have already discussed...i just want it to be very well balanced. i still want the ability for a lot of bass (i love trance/house music as well).

now i'm thinking about the sennheiser hd 497 as well...and i went to the site but they don't have the Hz response listed for the 497's...
the response range with the 212 pro is pretty dern good though

The response range, being a mostly made up marketing number, is mostly meaningless.
When headphone.com comes up with a corrected response curve, THAT can be useful for comparing two headphones... but not whatever the manufacturer states!

hehe, ok...
in your opinion, would the sennheiser 497's be a good choice for classical and trance?

From what I have read, yes.
Why not ask people at www.head-fi.org?
Or why not email or call those at www.headphone.com?
