okay, right now as you know, my vid is oc at 275/600. when i took my core up to 285 i actually got a worse score in 3dmark by like 300 and i could even notice the slow down from watching the game tests. i found that kinda odd. is that because its too much for the card(even though there were no artifacts or anything) or is that because it might be outdoing my system or something? just curious on what you think it could be.

is it worth it to lower the memory to increase the clock speed? generally i thought memory is what makes better fps and such. correct me if im wrong.

Given the LMAII and the nfiniteFX II Engine more than ever before raising the core yields substanital benefits. I can bench my 4200 with memory as high as 575 but whenever I cross 570 the core won't extend much past 280. Dropping down to 565 has allowed me to raise the core to 311. Make no mistake 311/565 destorys 280/575 but quite a margin too.

It was true with all three previous GeForce's that memory speed increases had a much more significant impact on framerate. Now I'd dare say they're equal if not more in favor of the core. I've seen reviews where GeForce 4's running cores of 330 and memory of 550 are getting faster results than cards with 300 cores and 650 memory
