And so I went to the store one day with my lobster of course and saw the love of my life. It was an orange. And it was blue. Blue like the dirt on the back of the apple. It was a blue apple. Blue with dirt. Dirt with blue.

The Sony G220 should be a great 17 inch monitor. I have the Sony G400, an older model and a 19 inch, it also works great for my eyes. However, these days I always recommend a Samsung Synchmaster.. You might want to consider the Samsung Synchmaster 700 NF, since it is a very good 17´ at a very good price.

I just got the NEC FE-700+ from new egg for $175 and I love it. Very crisp, clear image. It maxes out at 1280x1024 so if you have to have 1600x1200 they have the FE-750+ for $205 and I hear it looks just as good as the one I got.

i love my 17 in LG Flatron 795.

completely flat screen and also has a usb hub built into it.

really clear at all res's - goes up to at least 1600 x 1200.

Are you looking for a 17" monitor? or just one in that price range?

There are some nice 19" Samsungs in that range. My friend has the 19" 955DF.

The Samsung 900NF is very nice, but more expensive.

Sorry to suggest a 19" if you are really wanting a 17" .
