    i'm suprised at the price...

    of the ati radeon 8500 128mb card...it's really low (relatively, of course)

    does anyone know if ati will come out with a newer card around mid august or so? that's when i am going to build my computer...so i don't want to buy any parts untill i know what's coming up...

    any links or help would be nice. thanks

    Just wait for the new card to come out this august, its called the R3000 so just wait for that or get the NV30

    do you know what day in august it's supposed to come out? college starts on the 24th for me, so i would like to have the computer built before that...

    If you want to have a comp built by then I would really not wait, because when a card goes on the market it takes a little while for availability and the prices often shift by as much as 50-60 dollars, depending on new cards coming out from other companies and what other companies drop their current cards to. It took newegg like 2-4 weeks after the ti4200 release to get it in stock I think.

    A quick google search didn't reveal a release date but I'm sure the people on the forums have the general date (assuming august if this thread is right).

    Why not just pick up a RADEON 8500LE (64mb) from newegg.com for $99! Its clocked faster than the 128mb versions! The $99 card is clocked at 250 core/275 memory and it uses 3.3ns RAM!!!!! Nothing else can come close for under $100! Its just a thought.....
