Dungeon Siege SOLO
I'm playing DS with only one character and one mule and up until now it has been pretty easy. My character is a fighter/archer with 35 STR, 26 DEX, 14 INT, Melee 42, Ranged 33, and no magic skill whatsoever. It has been pretty smooth, until, I ran into a problem with the Goblin Inventor boss and it took me forever to kill him. Even though I did manage to eventually destroy him, it was very hard as I had to run into the room take ONE shot at him with the flame thrower and then duck back in the door to heal up. I eventually ran out of potions and had to rely on my natural health regeneration to heal. The guy has over 3000 HP and I was only able to hit him once or twice for about 70-80 HP before having to retreat to heal. At that rate it took me almost 40 runs into and out of the room with about 4 minutes between runs to regenerate. It took nearly 3 hours! What a hassle!
Anyway, I hate managing multiple characters in combat and feel much more comfortable soloing. My question is plain and is sort of asking for a spoiler. Are there any more bosses in this game that will require me to fight battles of attrition using hit and run tactics as I had to to with the Goblin Inventor? Can I solo the whole game? Or will I eventually have to break down and recruit some more party members?

I am at that guy now too and I just lost two members of my crew to get to him I haven't even come close to beating him yet cause he kills all my guys before I can take him out. I am just about out of potions but it makes me know it is possible if you can do it with one guy and no potions

Well, yeah, there are more bosses. I've done it solo a couple of times. You can make it through though it can get pretty challenging in places.

OK. I soloed the Fury and Gresh without breaking a sweat. I got a second mule though and I use him to carry all my potions. So far nothing has been tougher than the Goblin Inventor. Next boss: the Dragon of Rache.

Yeah that Goblin Boss...
I had 6 dudes and 2 mules when I came up against him and boy did I get my butt whipped. I had to set both my mages to casting healing winds and just rush the guy with everything I had. Everything else I tried ended up with DEFEAT! Funny though, because like the 10th time I tried the rush he sort of kept retreating instead of stepping all over my guys and I ended up beating him without breaking a sweat. Go figure? Meaybe the game knew I just wasn't going to do any good and took pity on me a la Max PAyne.....

BTW, if you are going to go solo, then I'd recommend loading up on mules; get six or seven of them. One or two can carry potions and the others can carry treasure.

That is good advice. Question though, do enemys attack your mules? Do you have to defend them at all?

did you find any particular kind of attack more effective? Like magic, arrows, axes...?

enemies do attack mules. Thats why i keep mine far away from the action. I turn off the follow mode on my mules and put them in a secure area until I kill all enemies in the zone. Then I walk the mules to join with my main character by following the trail of bodies and loot
BTW - the dragon Scorch went down like a sack of potatoes despite his 20,000 HP

yea the dragon was easy... every boss i fought was easy.
there is only 2 things u need to know about fighting bosses.. make sure u have lots of potions for each chatacter.. and u can press the H key.
thats about it.
the dragon took a while.. but the last boss was a tad freaking easy.
i thought the game was too easy, but thats my opinion.. was addictive till u finished it
