Power Supply bigger than 431 watts for single cpu system?
Ok, so apparently I have a power shortage. my system reboots after about 10 min of using it. when I disconnected 2 hard drives, it stopped. so apparently it's a power problem.
I currently have a 431 watt Enermax power supply and I'm shocked that 431 watts isn't enough for my system.
although if you look at my sig, I have 4 hard drives and 2 cdroms, so those must eat a lot, not to mention all those fans on my case. . .
are there any power supplies above 431 watts for single cpu systems? the ones that I saw were for 2+ processor motherboards only.
Custom system: Needs upgrading. Bad.

I think you have more than enough power, you may just have a bad PSU. Maybe it is overheating. Check the fans to make sure they are running.
Abit IP35 Pro, Intel Quad Core Q6600, Thermalright IFX-14, Ultra X3 1000watt PSU, 4GB Muskin DDR-2 800, eVGA 8800 GTS, Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 350, 1 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 400GB, 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 300GB HD's, 2 Plextor PX-760A's, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic, Lian Li PC-75-USB Aluminum Case, Viewsonic 27-inch N2750W LCD TV

you can get up to 500+ I believe on a few psu's. Or you could use 2 psu's
But I highly doubt it has anything to do with not enough power
by the way, 4 hard drive for 250 gigs? Holy crap, what are you storing on your PC

Are you overclocking anything?? They do make bigger PS's but its hard to believe that could be the problem.

Hmm. This doesn't really look like the power is too little. 431 Watts is a lot of power, even for a system like yours.
Might just be going bad. Try an Antec 400 Watter.
