Roxio Easy Cd Creator problem

I'm working on someone's computer, and I keep getting a message when Windows 95 starts up.

The DIRECTCD.exe file is linked to missing export ADVAP132.dll: Set Entries in Acia

system specs are as follows

• Pentium 120
• 32MB SIMM RAM
• WD 850 MB HDD
• Windows 95

please...no answers like, "get a new computer" "that's a POS", etc. All I want is if someone has a suggestion to this problem. I tried to register the dll, and that failed, so I did a search for it, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't even exist on the computer. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Has it ever worked on the computer at all??
Does it work at all if you try to start it manually?
I might be able to find the DLL file here and put it on the web for you to download if thats all you need. Also, you might wanna stop it from autostarting if you don't want it to start automatically...
Will help you with that if its not in the startup directory on your start menu.

well...wut brand cd burner does he have? once u install it...make sure i have all the latest updates...version 5.1 with the drivers update...then see wut happens

alright...the program does work on the computer...this is more of an annoyance issue than anything. CDC5 isn't in the StartUp at all actually...so that's not the issue either.

yeah, what you'll need to do then is go in to the registry. It sounds like it may have been installed once before but then removed the wrong way and installed again or something. What you do is go to START > RUN > and type "regedit"


under theres 2 directories that it could be in.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

first, got to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Run.

Check everything that is set up in there. The keys in there are set to start up when the computer starts up. If you can't find it in there, go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS > Current Version > Run.

Check the keys in there and make sure it's not there either. If both fail, i might be a little stuck. I can try sending you the DLL file.

well, I got it working...installed the update, then removed all traces of it from the registry...'twas quite fun. Made $30 for 30 minutes of work.

Just remember that for future though, if it starts at startup and its not in startup, it's usually in the registry at those 2 places...

actually...it wasn't in the registry there at all...those were the first places that I looked though, was kinda surprised they weren't there

when eva i get my hands on a used harddrive i always check the contents of it. yesturday i was attempting to smoke out some data from a harddrive my custumer was given to and he desided to give to me. sum chick named terri used it anyway i wastring to install ecd4 (as i kno ecd 5 gives majour headaches at install) the drive was rokin win95 and i had the same problem. the only reason i cared to install the prog in the firstplace was to back up that 202mb compressed harddrive whichg i couldnot f*** about with from XP as it was compressed. so after i failed with the atempt to ecd shizle of the drive i just gave up and tried to clear data off it so i can have sum room to uncompress it.
