Python equivalent to programming perl

I have been programming in c++ java and scheme for several years and this summer I am learning perl and python as part of a project. I am looking for a book like Programming Perl for python. The Programming Python book is not really what I want as it is more like a python cookbook (which is coming out this month and I will be getting). I know the online documentation for python is pretty good but having a singe all encompassing reference would be nice. Thanks

I'm not sure if you are a big fan of the X in 21 days books (I'm not really), however I know they put one of those out for Python. I'm not a Python coder myself, however I'm sure the book is simple.

I say you get that book and read it along with the documentation online. Good luck
