logitec quickcam express problems
ive had this quickcam attached to my computer for a while now, and i havent used it in over a few months. when i go to use it, every time i open the application it says that the "logitech quickcam express is currently in use by another application"(something along those lines im too lazy to type it word for word.) has anyone else had this problem? what did you do to fix this annoying problem? i have no idea what other application could be using the camera... please help, all help is appreciated.

Try restarting your computer. If that doesn't fix it then maybe some sort of webcam software is already open, maybe in the system tray?

Try reinstalling the drivers and any proprietary software that the camera uses. I had a scanner go haywire once with a similar problem and this fixed it.

i tried something similar.
earlier i discovered that the software i was using was really outdated. so i went to the site and downloaded the newest version of the software. it removed the older software and drivers and replaced them with upgraded drivers and an upgraded program for using the cam. the weird thing is that when i was installing this new software and it was testing to see if the cam worked, the cam was actually working, it was actually capturing something without the "in use by another application" message that i usually see. i was so excited that it actually seemed to be working so i restart the computer only to find out that nothing has changed. i am still getting the same error as before, with newer drivers and software...and another thing is that i cant find the original cd that it came with...i dont know what to do. the cam works when im installing the software but then when i try to run the program to use it, it says the camera is in use by some other application... i really need to find this application.

Try completely removing it from your system (all software/drivers) and then reinstall it. You may have had some leftovers from the old drivers even though you updated.
