My Maxtor keep on breaking. I keep calling them and they keep sending me new ones. I started with a 30GB and I already have a 120GB of broken Maxtors (I know, it's messed up). I think I'm happy with my good 40GB Western Digital.

Western Digital hard drives use liquid bearings just like the Maxtor quiet drives do, so the noise difference should be minimal.
