    ***? Hes looking for a video card and not a POS 1.3Ghz P-4 w/SDRAM...

The best buy right now for a kinda low budget is the Ti-4200 but for better preformance get a nice Ti-4400.

well, if you were to upgrade your mobo, you'd need to upgrade your memory and cpu. that can get quite pricey.

for about approx 300-350 though, you could have one fine system. i reccomend a decent xp, an epox mobo with some ddr333. that should run you about 300-350. or, u could always go the p4 route, a 1.6a, asusp4s533, and some ddr333. any video card in the future would perform great on it.

if that whole upgrade isn't possible right now, i'd jsut go for the video card, either way, both upgrades, either mobo/ram/cpu or the vid card, it'd be great for your performance.

Please read carefully before posting anything or you will make yourself look like an idiot... See who posted that *POS* system??, it was the original poster, the one asking for the videocard, he was doing that just on request because to be able to give a better advice on the purchase someone asked his system specs.

BTW ZacT10, on the videocard side i would recommend you either a GF4 Ti4200 or an ATI Radeon8500, those would give you the best bang for the buck on your system, i also think that you will need to change later your cpu//mobo in a future, but still you should be able to see a nice performance boost .

    Peace.

I too am running a GF2 GTS and have found it lacking lately. I shopped around and checked out what I could afford that would compliment my current system [see below]
Rather than paying the extra for a GF4 which would probably be limited by my CPU I settled on the ATI 8500. Now it's in the mail and I'm just waiting for it to arrive and the fun to begin!

It may not be the fastest or the best but, for my system and price range, it seemed to be the best match.

Just my opinion but I hope it helps.

    Cheers,

If you get a 8500le $94 at newegg.com, equipped with tiny BGA. Once you get a new system, you can OC it and reach GF4 territory (it's actually pretty much there, but when it's OCed, you know you're there ). BTW, hey Darkwolf, how well does your system run Warcraft 3 with all the settings cranked up? I'm planning to get a 8500le for my 800mhz P3 and I just wanna get an idea on where my performance will be at.

The $94 R8500LE does not have BGA RAM. It still uses TSOP.

As for WarCraftIII, I've been playing it on my PIII600E w/256MB SDRAM and a GF2 MX, I can run the campaign fine at 1024x768 with settings all on high, but when I play a skirmish with loads of people running around, it really gets slow. BTW, I think that WCIII is CPU limited cause I wasn't looking at anything but it just started getting slow and I searched around and found (in skirmish remember) the 2 teams were attacking each other. Does anyone find the 90 unit limit annoying?
