    Looking for hack n slash

Any games out there similar to Diablo in gameplay that I may be overlooking? How are Silver & Gothic? I've got Dungeon Siege (s'okay), had Morrowind (boring), have not tried NWN (didn't like Baldur's Gates games, scared its similar). And please, don't try to convice me to play "real" rpgs. Looking for simple button mashers cause I'm simple-minded. Any help appreciated.

Well in that case get your hands on Silver. I still got my copy and I remember this one got everyone hooked when it came out. Should be a good buy now too

I don't know about Gothic, but you will thank yourself later after buying Silver. It really brought me back to the hack'n'slash arcade gaming days, plus it was 3D! and has terrific NPCs! A real treat. So do yourself a favour and get it!

if you like hacking and slahing...try out blade of darkness and rune...both are great hackers and slashers...rune is more arcade like...blade of darkness is more of a thinking mans hack and slash (you have combos and stuff) both are fun games...they are 1-2 years old so their price has dropped...

if you can find it, get the game Revenant. It's like only 10 bucks now (if even that) and the game is the greatest hack and slash game ever made!

Diablo 2 is somewhat hack'n'slash. But it still requires some managemment of potions, armour etc.

I agree with PointlesS, Blade of Darkness is kickass, even after 18months or so. I totally forgot about that one. Man! I got so far in that and then I stopped playing, dont ask me why, but I guess another game took my attention. Ah such is life. Thnx PointlesS, ima get stuck into Blade again, w007! I remember it was taxing on my 3d card back then, um a TNT2, LOL! Now with my new vid card it should fly!

Rune is a pretty good game.I got it about 4 months and still havent finished it.Multiplayer is cool.Nothing like a severing an opponents arms and chasing him down for the final blow.I played the Blade of Darkness demo and it looked cool with the shadow effects.I might buy it if I find it cheap.

Couldn't agree with you more on what you said. DS is definitely ok and not the next "diablo 2". If you didn't like the bg series then don't get nwn. They're not exactly the same but you can say they're related. Rune was very buggy at the time I played the game and the graphics were ok...I don't see any other good hack and slash games, which is why I'm begging blizzard to make Diablo 3 .

Same here. I liked the graphics and enjoyed the huge axes and badass weapons. The only problem was the enemy AI left something to be desired. As for Blade of Darkness, I could never get into that game cause I just didn't like the gameplay and I kept comparing it to RUNE and didn't think it came close...

Try Nox. Its a bit older now but still a great game. Definitely the kind of high speed fun hack'n'slash that you are looking for. Its a very well thought out game as far as class balance. It should be discounted now too. The game starts a little bit slow but gets really good as it progresses.

Don't write off NWN completely. I didn't like the BG games either, but now I'm already on my second playing of NWN. The pacing is much faster. The combat is not at all tedius like it was in BG. Its a little bit more complex than D2, but no where near as complex as BG2 or Morrowind. I got bored with Morrowing also.

Nox was an average rpg. It didn't have that "feeling" to get me to continue playing.
