New CD-Rom flies! But can't browse it's contents

Weird. Got a Hi-Val 52x cd rom 30 minutes ago and it is great, except there is NO way for me to look at the individual contents of the Cd's I put in the drive. My Cheap-out-of-business Smart and Friendly drive had no problem doing this. All I had to do was right click on the cd-rom drive and select "explore". and the cd would open up and I can see all the files on disk. Can't do this with my new drive, I click on Explore and I get to exploring desktop folders window. I usually like to read the readme.txt files prior to installing games, but can't do this now. Went to Hi-Val's website to see if there were any new drivers and from win 98 on up they are installed automatically (according to site). Paid $32 on this drive and really don't want to return it. any ideas anyone? thanks

i would return... i have personally had VERY BAD experiences with HI-VAL products

i returned the beast and got the sony 52x. it is quick too.
