Networking My House, Need help with DHCP Server

I've bought all the stuff to network my house, then found the DHCP server on my ADSL Router/Modem doesn't work properly. It wont let you enable DNS or can the ip's to 192.x.x.x/255.255.255.0 , it wants to stay on 10.x.x.x/255.0.0.0. Which causes some hassels for me with my Laptops.

I was wondering how to setup a DHCP server under Win2k Advance server if it's possiable. If not what OS should i be using ?

Or would it just be easier to go and buy a decent router and modem.

    Thanks FaTs

    You must install RRAS.

For a small home network you are better off to set up static IP addresses, etc. It makes it easier to forward ports in your router and it is one less piece of software that has to run on your Win2k box.

RRAS is that a compent of Win2k or a seperate proggie ?

Thanks ua549, the win2k box is stand alone so it doesn't really matter much

RRAS is a component that must be installed. Use Control Panel, Add Remove Windows Components.
