    geforce 4 ti-400 60 fps on cs!

    my friend typed fpsmax 100 and is running
    itleadt a 1.5 gighz machine
    win xp home
    128 ram
    geforce 4 ti-4400


    what did he not do he is only getting 59-60 fps in counter-strike

    or keep v-sync on to reduce tearing and increase your refresh rate to 100 for that resolution.

    You might need to fix your refreshrate.

    Actually, if you have a refresh rate of 60Hz your head would explode in pain after only a few minutes of use. What you have here is a known bug with Windows 2K/XP. Whenever you start any 3D games the refresh rate locks in at 60Hz regardless of what your video driver is set to.

    Go to guru3d.com and get the refresh lock utility from their downloads section.

    Another reson could be that you got way too little ram!! (only 128mb)

    Windows XP itself uses 128mb I think....

    My CS too, runs in 60fps. It's cuz vsync in enabled. But keep it on, cuz it makes your game 'glitch' free. Besides 100fps and 60fps in CS doesn't make any difference.
