    Problem booting into Win XP.

    I tweaked around in the bios so that I can remove one hard drive (as I thought it wasn't being used). Well, I changed my mind but now the system won't boot. into the "d" drive it is supposed to and I get a system boot failure error in dos. It boots into the "c" drive no problem but that is where the ooooooooollld OS is. I can't remember how I made XP ignore the old "c" drive in the past, but now I need for it to happen again.

    I somehow need to get into the "d" drive and get to advanced options and change the boot.ini I think it is called. anyone have any advice or know how to do this from DOS?

    Thanks a mill.

    Is boot.ini on your C: drive. It should be.

    In dos
    dir /a
    attrib -h -s boot.ini <turn off r attribute if it is on>
    edit boot.ini
    <do your edits>
    <save>
    attrib +h +s boot.ini
