Power outage did something to my harddrive

Well here in BC Canada we had quite a storm last night, i was playing a video game then all of a sudden the power went off.. 5 seconds later it went back on then 5 seconds after that it went back off. When it finally came back on again i powered up the computer and a high pitched sound started bellowing from my harddrive which was not there before the power outages. The harddrive still works but that damn noise is givin me one hell of a headache and i've tried everything i know of to get rid of it to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

if you can back it up and rma if you can but don't mention storm say it all of a sudden started making weird noises most likely the heads weren't parked and it trashed the platters.
