Minority Report
I'm not really looking to discuss the movie as a whole, but the computers. I think they idea of transparent "monitors" was pretty cool. Not necessarily the gloves that Cruise wears, but the way the data was. I think it would be sort of annoying having a transparent window to read off of, depending on what was behind it of course, but if they worked with it a little I think it would be quite nice. Perhaps have a solid colored box behind text and such on the screen. It would be nice to have holograms too.. but that's not very likely.

I believe that technology will not be far into the future.
There was a post about that wrappable TV thingy.
Humans are one step closer
I think no matter what is gonna be behind the screen, the peron is going to be used to it before he knows it

Not Wurm
I just want the cereal box that sings and dances!!
Actually holographic projectors due exist, those were actual units used in the movie. And those giant *** monitor would be cool, but I think that they would have a display matte any way, so transperency wouldnt be an issue.

They do have holographic projectors that project onto transperancy screens. They are pretty cool, but I wish they could make true 3d rendered projections that would be awesome

What makes me wonder here, is the way they trasfered data, put then on a little monitors, and you could see the picture or the video, and then they inserted the little monitor to another computer... is that even possible?

I agree, those ads were crazy. I don't think the government or even the BBB would allow such an invasion of privacy in real life. I can see how ads would know who you are though if we ever start carrying a standard sort of microchip identification, but that's a ways off... and I personally am not a big fan of the mark of the beast...

I didn't really get the Zebra thing.
It's flat, but it appears 3D?
Those things on credit cards count?
Hmm, IMO if it's not like Star Trek it's not hologram

i liked the cereal boxes too..seriously cause the singing and dancing gadget would probably cost way more than the cereal itself.
at least for now

As far as I know I have not seen a system that can project a hologram into air. They always have some kind of intermediate display medium. The Minority Report holograms featuring his wife and kids were projected onto a wall but appeared to have some 'thin air' depth as well.
