How do u format HD?
i wana format my hard disk. now what happened is, the last time i formatted my HD, it said that "ITS trying to recover bad sectors". once it recovered the bad sectors, it formatted ok.
now i wana ask you, are there any commands to format the hidden, files, or any other command to clean reformat the Hd. i do mean format it properly, pure clean format.

the way i do it is goto dos and type format c:
but that might be completely wrong

well just like dextor said go to dos mode using your bootable rescue disk with scandisk for dos and I recommend that you scandisk the hd first then format [the harddisk u wish to format].

In the rare cases that a HD may have a boot virus I alway run "fdisk" from the boot disk. You will need to remove the existing partition before installing the new. Then after the shutdown, I just type in "format C:" from the same boot disk. The fdisk is usally an extra step on an existing drive but IMHO worth the few minutes as a "just in case" solution. All new drives require this step anyway
