hi i would like to boost my 802.11b signal beacuse my home is made of concrete(common thing on Mexico) and the signal strenght is very low on one end of the house(my room) where i use my desktop and my PDA

BTW: why most of the houses on the US are made of wood? you always suffer hurricanes and stuff like that

Try moving the access point to a higher more central location.

Placement of the AP, as well as changing the polarization of the antenna, ie.. north/south or east/west can help diminish multipath (something that will hurt your overall coverage) but if that does not work then you might consider buying an aftermarket antenna with higher gain. Most of the SOHO AP's ship with weak 2 dB diople antennas, the rabbit ears. As long as you have detachable antennas you can get different antennas. The budget Wi-Fi AP hardware normally have Reverse polarity TNC or SMA connectors on the back, if they have detacheable antennas.
