New NVIDIA drivers gave me 400 more pts in 3dMark2001se.. :)
I just thought I'd share my input that these new drivers, the 40.41's, are fantastic so far. I am now at 8000 3dmarks without overclocking, whereas I used to be a little over 7500. Now with overclocking, I look forward to 8500 with this card very soon..
Here's the link for Win2k/XP drivers...

Very nice drivers, I noticed an increase in performance, framerate and sharpness as well. Also 3dmark scores went up but not by 400 but I'm getting a few friends who're reporting as much as 700 increase with this.

My thoughts on these drivers found here: http://www.sharkyforums.com/showthre...hreadid=152849
My impressions so far: These drivers suck.
First off when you benchmark with Direct3D under "Best Performance" mipmap details everything gets pixelated, similiar to what you would expect if your playing a game without hardware acceleration.
Second off, these drivers delete my favorite resolution of 1280x960. No Nvidia driver to date has done this.
Third Impression: I've done the usual benchmarks, Quake3 and 3DMark2001SE. Quake3 remained about the same and I lost 160 3DMarks at 1024x768@32-bit with my GeForce3 Ti200 at 220/465.
*edit* I've tried 2 other Mipmap details, Best Image Quality and Blend. Both of them do not give pixelated graphics. Previous Nvidia drivers to date did not pixelize graphics when set under "Best performance" in Direct3D, only made them slightly more blurry.
Nvidia refresh rate & RivaTuner's refresh rate fix do not work on the 40.41's. Anyone know a program that doesn't need to be running in the background (i.e, RefreshLock) to fix the refresh rate?
*edit 2* Seems like these drivers aren't optimized as well as for GeForce4's. 22.80's back I go. Not only do those offer better performance but better image quality.

You might be right on that.. I'm using a GF4 Ti4200 so they work wonders for me.
As far as the 1280 x 960 resolution, I can still use it and can play Morrowind in that resolution too.

Really? You guys find the 22.80s best for your geforce 4s? For both speed and image quality? Hmm, looks like im gonna have to give em a try. Right now im using 30.82s.

Not me.. I really disliked 30.82's so I was using 29.42. But 40.41 works wonders for me and I'm keeping it.
I'm using a GF4, ofcourse your results may vary but I'm happy with the 40.41 on my Ti4200.

only got me about 250 3d marks. also the tests were visibly more jerky with these drivers, wonder what causes that.

I'm a GeForce3 user . Newer drivers work better for the GeForce4, stay away from the 22.80 if you got a GF4.

nvidia and their dirty dirty tricks... I have never seen nvidia do this and i only got into building computers last year... but apparently with the 40 det's, nvidia has lowered LOD quite a bit:
http://www.hardforums.com/showthread...hreadid=483073
more reports of LOD decreasing:
http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthre...eadid=33633204
nvnews isn't available but I hear they are reporting the same thing.
Quack anyone???
