Here is the error I get...

"An I/O error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file."

I just installed everything onto my new motherboard and I get this error when I try to install software?!? And I know the CD is just fine. And the CR-ROM drive is perfectly fine as well.

I also just got new RAM. My system specs are up to date on everything. Click the link in my sig.

I sure hope someone can help with this one. Thanks!

It happens when I install off a cd and setup programs that I download, like 3DMark 2001

sounds like something is wrong with your registery, could be corrupt, run scanreg or some other registery tool
or (but not as likely) something wrong with your ram
