    cant format my hd!

    running xp pro adn i wanna start BRAND SPANKING NEW.

    do i need a floppy disc to do this?

    plz help
    my a:drive is so messed up right now

    Just point to your cdrom as the primary boot device. It'll do the rest for you

    If you are trying to format a drive that already has on OS on it that isn't compatible with the OS you are formating with, then you will need a low level format utility such as Wipe. Wipe is a command line ("dos") utility that formats a drive at the binary level (it writes 1s and 0s}.
