    Unhappy Even Microsoft.com ahhh man,

    i got phillips pcvc 720k /00 webcam. it doesnt work with XP. i went to philips website and it listed there that since its USB port, u simply plug it in and windows will recognise it and support it. i did so, but had no luck, windws said it can not support the webcam. than i was told if i go to microsoft.com and get an update for windows XP ( home edition (currently installed)) than i might b able to get my camera to work. but its so dam hard. i cant find the upgrade for my webcam. plz help. its urgent. i know u ppl have the answer for sure.

    May be it is installed with diffrent / wrong drivers. Check in device drivers.

    umm does it use USB1.1 or USB2 ?


    Either way you might need to get a more updated version of your USB drivers (I am guessing that is what they are telling you to do)

    Sorry if its not much help, but I cant find any information for that particular device in a language that I can easily translate.

    It should work because i got an Intel one that i got back when 98 was only out and i use it now no problem.

    Philips is such a loser company. they said the camera should work automaticaly without drivers with xp, but it doesnt. my new computer manual says, i got usb 2.0 installed. what else can i try boys.

    Wow did she ever get an upgrade.

    Anyway, I really hope that you are wrong Girl_, cause the online manual pretty straight forward states that there are drivers that need to be installed. They even have a graphic showing the drivers being installed.

    I would try doing the install as stated in the online Manual.

    gotta agree have a sound card from them that wont work with XP.. all theyve been giving is beta drivers.. would rather be using my philips card than this sound blaster but oh well.. at least it works.
