Well, you may want to post what that person already has in their system, because 100 in the UK is only about $80USD because of your VAT and various other charges. I have also noticed that prices tend to be higher to begin with in the UK, so I wouldn't count on getting that great of a card for the budget they have indicated.

Maybe another Sharky member from the UK can give you some options, as I'm in the US and just am not that familiar with what is available, initial cost, and various other taxes that may get tacked on to the purchase there in the UK.

What is an LSC screen? Do you mean LCD, and is this person trying to run multiple monitors?

The current exchange rate is $1.55 = 1 pound

If prices are the same for video cards in the UK you could probably buy a GeForce4 4200 card for that amount. How much did you pay for your card? An alternate card would be the GeForce4 440 MMX w/64 mb ram ( about 1/2 the price of the 4200)

i agree with trying to find a ti4200 -- w/ your budget, maybe you also would have better chances of finding one if you looked for it used. alternately though i would try for a radeon 8500LE or (maybe) a 9000. sometimes you can flash/oc LEs to 8500s, so that or even the 9000 could be good solutions, imho.

First look for the Radeon 8500LE, then you look at Ti 4200 video cards, then you look at radeon 9000 video cards in that order.

Your friend has the cash for an LCD monitor, but not a decent video card? Sounds like misplaced priorities.

And I don't want to sound too mean, but are you doing that bad grammar/ebonics thing on purpose? Its really annoying.

Fatsest to slowest. All support DVI.

    ti4200 64MB 250/250
    ti4200 128MB 250/222
    8500 275/275MHz
    8500le 250/250MHz
    9000Pro 275/275MHz
    Dont get a 9000 Non Pro 250/200MHz.

Aslo some 3rd party 8500les might be 250/200MHz, especially if its 128MB at the same price as a regular 250/250 64MB 8500.

    OK, i'm from the UK.
Firstly, Ti4200s are roughly between £130 and £150 depending on which one you want. Radeon 8500LEs are roughly £90 or £100 and they are very good value for money.
Some very cheap sites are www.tekheads.co.uk (cheap, good support)
    www.overclockers.co.uk (cheaper, ok sales)
    www.overclock.co.uk (cheap / dunno)

    Good luck. Hope that helps.
