Hammerhead Shark
From ATi to Nvidia and vice versa
Hello all!
One of my friends recently bought a 9700 pro (yay!). He's having installation issues because the previous card was an Nvidia Tnt 2.
Can you guys put up a step by step instruction to help him reformat Windows?
Things to keep in mind:
No windows instalation disk-he bought an HP
Has system recovery disks
needs Nvcleaner-please provide link!
No CD-burner to make backup
Provide instructions for cleaning Registry
I've already tried trouble shooting the problem with him, and the only thing I can think of that is left is a fresh install of windows.
Please help him!

You sure you can't go into safe mode and uninstall the drivers from control panel and delete nvidia entries in the registry? That works for me all the time.

Yeah, we already tried that. The computer is still detecting Nvidia software, but we don't know where. That's why a fresh install of Windows seems to be the best choice.

I think you can get the NVCleaner from www.guru3d.com. Look under downloads-videocard utilities-generic tools.

All right, found it.
EDIT: Now he says the card works, but the 9700 seems slow
Keep the suggestions coming!
Thanks!
