    woot.. Athlon XP 2400 at newegg :)

    Link

    I didn't even notice this, and I didn't see any threads about this, this must be pretty new. That's a good price on that CPU, most are hitting average 2.3GHz sub 45c temps with good hsf.

    Although the P4 2.4 is about the same price, perhaps cheaper, I'd still go for the Athlon due to it's multiplier. With watercooling, I can see it hitting 2.5GHz w/ 166FSB. Or lower the multiplier to your liking.

    -40c chiller to CPU.

    no condensation.

    self contained.

    got one coming in November.

    let the serious clocking begin.

    and Newegg seems to have the 2400+ in good supply and for the best price i have found so far. for a laugher, go to ebay and see what some of the bidders are paying for the 2400+, talk about a feeding frenzy!!!

    I've seen those before baldy, that's gonna be some great oc'ing.. If you were to hit 166FSB with that CPU, that'd be a killer overclock.

    But ~$630-$700 is too much for me to spend on cooling, but if you got the money, more power to ya (obviously hehe).
