what card for p3/866?

my friend has a dell system with a pentium 3 866mhz processor and 256 mb ram...he is running a tnt2, and can't play any games because of it

what kind of graphics card would be the best value/performance for him?

i was thinking a radeon 8500 or a ti4200...any suggestions? would the new need for speed run decently on his system if he upgraded to one of these cards? i have a geforce 2 32 mb and i can't run the game higher than 640 x 480/medium or it gets laggy

Most likely. Those cards are way faster than TNT2 I believe. I'd probably put a 128 meg 4200 in it if it were my machine.

Although that processor and RAM are probably a little bit dated, a good video card is a good investment.

Hey,
For tht system i'd recommend either an 8500LE or the orignal 8500. 128Meg prefreably.
The ti4200 128meg would be a gud bet too, but stay away from 64mb cards, cuz the more time progresses, 128mb and in the not so distant future 256meg cards will rule.
