Man With Nothing To Lose
Pentium 4 1.8A GHz C-1 Stepping
UPDATE:
Does anyone know if the P4 1.8A C-1 stepping processors can be bought now? I see it listed under the intel processor finder now ( http://processorfinder.intel.com/sc...ALL&PkgType=ALL ), but I am not sure which retailers still have B0 steppings or have the new C1 steppings.
It's been about 3 months since the last post in this thread, so I think someone might know now .
*OLD*
Anyone know when these will be available? Very interested in buying one of these and hopefully I'll get around 3GHz or more with watercooling and pelts.

According to Intel's list, they're not even out yet.

People bought 1.8a systems from Dell and got lucky and received a 1.8a C1 that'll do 3.5 on air.

This is the case with 1 person. I don't know about people doing this. I'm sure it was a once in a lifetime thing, and in this instance, the dude was extremely lucky.

There are 2 people who received a C1 1.8a from Dell. One guy got it from his friend's Dell and the other guy bought a Dell machine just for a C1 1.8a and he got it.

I don't know...
The best thing to do is go into a store and look for a C1 stepping cpu. This is what you want to look for on the boxes:
1.80A C1 - Boxed - SL6E6, OEM - SL6LA
2.00A C1 - Boxed - SL6E7, OEM - SL6GQ
2.20A C1 - Boxed - SL6E8, OEM - SL6GR
2.26B C1 - Boxed - SL6EE, OEM - SL6DU
2.40A C1 - Boxed - SL6E9, OEM - SL6GS
2.40B C1 - Boxed - SL6EF, OEM - SL6DV
2.53B C1 - Boxed - SL6EG, OEM - SL6DW
I got this info from here.

I bought a C1 a little while back, I have yet to use it though (blinking P4SDX was a waste of time ) and I bought it at a Canadian store, in fact, www.atop.ca
I believe all their 1.8A's are C1 now, as the string simply states it. I'm hoping to get 3.6
