If cost is no object, I'd go with an Adaptec SCSI Ultra 320 setup with a Seagate U320 Cheetah 15k drive.
idd have to get a new mobo to use scsi wouldnt i-preety sure the p4b533 dont support it although im not to sure how scsi works really to be honest

The adaptec U320 uses a 64bit PCI bus, so yea new mobo. One with no barely any options, probably integrate video and other useless stuff since its probably a server mobo. Although it is backward compatible with 32bit pci, then it takes away from its speed.

Didn't all the hard drive manufactures, except IBM, change their warranties from 3 years to 1 year?

7200 is as fast as I know about. The main thing now is probably aerial density, some of the newer WD drives that run on the 60gb platters are going to be the quickest but the only way to be sure you are getting one is to buy the 200gb option which is costly and not desired nor needed based on your thread.

I would say the IBM is the best bet for you. IBMs warranty will still be honored I'm sure. In my opinion they are the best drives out, quite, quick, and reliable.
