alpha pal6035 on new stuff =)

hey, whats up. i have a alpha pal6035 on my duron right now but i just wanted to make sure that when i get my new mobo with a 2700 or 2800 xp that it will still work...i dont see why it wouldnt. i thought the 6035 was made because the 8045 wouldnt fit on some of the other mobo designs because some stuff was in the way or something. but anyways, anyone for sure that it will still fit?

yup, as long as your new motherboard is a socket A motherboard, which it will be since it'll support the 2700+ and 2800+, your 6035 won't be obsolete.

It will still fit. The temp may be a little high though, they are older then the 8045. I'm using them on my system because I was unsure if a larger HSF would fit in my DP system. I had read reports that it could be a problem.

The warmer of my 2 processors (1800+) runs in the 45 - 46 deg range, so I wouldn't be surprised to see you top 50 deg C with that HSF.
