    Raid Controller

I am buying a Raid Controller similar to this one.

I hope someone hear knows something about these cards. Will this give me good performance in a RAID 0 setup? I can not afford to buy better cards, because I am not so sure I should try to afford this one. I just want to some reassurance that it isnn't going to slow things down more then speed them up. Also, I will be hooking up 2 Western Digital 80 GB SE HDs to it. Any help or insight is appreciated.
Some day, that fateful finger from above will point down, and it will be pointing at me.

Well, what are you doing that will require a RAID setup?

That should work just fine for what you are probably looking for. I am assuming you will be using a 2 Drive Raid 0 array. Depending on what you use your computer for the most will help you decide what size to set the striping to. Typically when you are moving large files you will choose a larger stripe size.

You should see an increase in speed maybe not as noticiable as you would hope unless you start moving large files around. Anyway wish you luck with your card. I have never used a card from that company I have always stuck to Adaptec and Promise, but the reviews i read on that card dont look to bad.
