HHD is full, oops
The "everybody uses it" laptop at work has a full HHD, 3.17G. It's a big one I know. What is the easiest option to fix the problem.
External HHD
Out with the old in with the new HHD
Other opinions.....

Just pop it open and istall a new HDD. It's not too difficult and laptop HDDs are a lot cheaper than externals. Its the same procedure as with a desktop computer except for that the HDD is smaller and you have to figure out how to take the laptop apart (which isn't very hard).

You could move the contents of the drive to anothner computer and back onto the drive using either a netowork or a HDD adapter.

Depending on the make and model of the laptop, the disk drive is usually located under an access panel on the side or bottom of the case. The old drive can be removed and a new one installed. The real issues relate to backup of the old drive and bios support for a new drive. The 2.5" drives come in different heights such as 9.5mm and 12mm, so they must be matched to what you have. You must have the make and model number of the laptop to figure out what physical size drive and capacity can be used.

I would just get an external one b/c i am lazy and you wouldn't have to transfer everything.
