Just got some headphones but....
Just got some Koss r200 as a birthday present to go along side my Klipsch 5.1. Just gotta have some headphones for the late stuff. Anyawys, two problems.
1) There are two jacks on the Klipsch volume control. One for headphones, the other for a mic. Plugging in the headphones into the headphone spot doesn't do anything and I checked both plugs so its not that.
2) Bass respone seems real low. My friend has some R80s and they had great bass but these seem lacking. I have an SB live Value and changed the settings for headphones but that made no difference for music (haven't seen if I need that setting for game positioning or not.
Also, all the pictures I saw of these showed a little "box" on the cord that was for volume control. Just got them 20 minutes ago from Amazon and its just a coiled cord. No volume control, thats just misleading...
Thanks in advance for any response.

well to answer your little volume dial question, it is not uncommon for manufacturer to remove such items as they revise their products.
By "doesnt do anything" you mean that when you plug in your cans you get no sound from them?
-
I assume you have tried the cans on another source to be sure that they work?
One by one, the penguins are stealing my sanity.

The headphones work almost as they should when plugged directly into the back. Like I said in my original post, it feels like the bass is week but its fine other than that.
When I said nothing happens, I meant the speakers work as they always do and no sound from headphones. Plugging the headphones into the speakers makes not difference at all.
Edit: Just figured out how to get headphone mode on. Tapping the power button makes it switch modes. Yah! Still weak bass..

As for bass response, it is only audible from high quality headphones, expensive ones mostly.

Not true. The Koss PortaPro is an amazing headphone for only $15!

I'm one of those guys who nevers follows the great forum rule: rtfm ! ;D It was just a big box...they plugged in...they worked...so I kept the receipt and hid the instructions away somewhere clever so that not even I can find them.
Always wondered what the HP meant. "Hold Power" made sense since, well, you gotta hold the power button to shut it off. The concept of Headphones never hit me until I started to make that last post. ¦¬þ

If you love bass, you might wanna try Grado SR225, Beyerdynamic DT 250-80 or Sony MDR-V6. They tend to exaggerate the bass level above natural.
