    Stock Cooling question

As I have NEVER been a fan of STOCK cooling, I ordered an AXP 1600 a while back and tossed the default HSF in my "crap" drawer.

My mom wanted me to build my step dad a computer for x-mas mostly for playing games, like half-life (counter-strike) so I got a duron 1.2 ghz, and an ecs k7s5a, some crucial sd-ram 256, a western digital 20 gb hd. An antec case all from newegg of course.

It got here and I realized I forgot to order an HSF .

So I threw on the stock one that I abondened some time ago. It seem's to be working fine. I haven't done anything with the system yet to monitor the temps. In fact after I assembled it, I put it back in the cases box assembled as to hide it away until my step dad is at work and I have time to get it up and running with windows and what not.

The question comes to this, will this stock HSF work for his system? I don't really trust the stock HSF, but if I dont really have to get a new one, I don't wanna spend the extra cash on it. The system wont be on 24/7 just for maybe 6 hours a day or so every other day if that.

So what are some opinions on this? Will it work? I dont want temps over 60c up to 60c is ok, I guess. Personally I don't like anything over 50c.

I think you'll be fine with that Duron under there...I wouldn't worry about it.

Justin let stability be your guide if you don't lock up your a-OK. If you ever did want a more premium cooler you would not need more than the SK-7 and even that would be more than you really need

I don't see why you would have a problem.

If your not going to OC, then stock cooling should be fine, IMHO.

To tell you the truth, I dont plan on even touching it once its setup.

No overclocking, Im just a little bit weary of the whole STOCK cooling unit.

I'll give it a go and see how it works out. Thanks the input.

I really should read what forum im in before I start a new post, I didnt realize I wasn't in the cases/cooling when I posted this.

Its like the whole side walk trip to jog thing. Play it off
