quick zip utility to zip alot of single files to separte zip?

I have alot of separate single files that I want to zip up. I want to zip each to a separate file and have the zipfile name the same as the compressed files.

anyone know of any utility that will do that?


also can anyone recommend a utility that will unzip alot of zip files. (batch decrompession)

It's a pain in the *** using Winzip to zip and unzip each file separately

yeah I know winRAR gives better compression but I never know they can do that batch zipping stuff.

as much as I like WinRAR I run alot of emulators that support ziped Roms. so that leads me to ZIP files.

any other compression purpose I use WinRAR

from what i understand you want to zip up files so it makes several partitions that will regroup together when you want to extract them back out?

looking like this?

r00 , r01 , r02 , .... etc..

well to do that, right click on all the files and go to add archive.
then
dont touch anything else except
"split to volumes, bytes"
if you want to make each file about 14 megs put 14,000,000
and press ok and wait, it will create the partition files.

WinRar does batch zip as well as rar

so you have had the program you needed all along

don't feel bad for me about the 40 meg HD. I ues STACKER 3.0 and DOUBLE SPACE. so I get 120meg of space. and I use SOFTRAM to increase my ram size.

my Windows 3.1 and Netscape 1.2 takes a full 7 minutes to load from boot time. and it takes like 3 minute to load up/display the sharky extreme homepage.
