Enlight 7237 300w PSU and new Processors

Will the stock 300watt PSU (sorry, I don't know the brand off hand and my comp is in school storage) work with current generation P4 and Athlon XP systems (MB and CPU)? I am going to upgrade from a Athlon 900 (slot-A) and am hoping that I will not need a new PSU to make the transition...

    Thanks!

Sure will. I have a Hivision 300W power supply and its pushing my XP 1600+ at 1.80 Vcore and 2.9 Vmem plus all the drives.

If you can spare the cash, it wouldn't hurt to upgrade, but 300W should cut it.

    thx thuggator

Good, I am going to save the cash and keep the existing psu. after my last dazzling oc of 33mhz, I am not planning on oc'ing the new setup and hence am hoping that 300w will cut it.

    thanks again...

but will that psu be enough for a 1800+, sb x-gamer 5.1, dvd drive, cd drive, and a 9500pro or 9700pro?

check my sig, i plan to add a 9500 or 9700 to that and i have the 300w psu that came with my enlight case. anyone know if this is enough power. i know some 300w psu's can handle more than others. how is the one that comes my enlight case??

Crack it open (your case, not Power supply) and check your rails, I will do the same, since I too have a 300w Enlight PSU, but mine has decent rail ratings so I can handle a decent load, I will be upgrading soon to either a sparkle or enermax, 450+ just because I hate having to upgrade, and will need a spare PSU for second PC.

Make sure your 12v rail has at least +8 I think that's the P4 requirement

the enlight psu's are of pretty good quality actually, so a 300 watter from them should be able to handle a pretty good sized system.
