    Wow, never seen this before...

    This is very interesting. I've had a pair of stereo speakers on either side of my monitor for about a year or so. My comp audio is hooked into a stereo "mini" system rather than just plain old amplified speakers. Anyway, these speakers have been sitting there for quite awhile, literally butted up next to the monitor on both sides. I just a few minutes ago noticed that if I move either speaker away from the monitor, the colors on that edge of the monitor become all distorted. In fact, if I shut off the stereo and completely remove both speakers from the area, both edges of my monitor are screwed. It's almost as if RF radiation from the speakers might have burned into my monitor on both sides?? It only looks okay if the speakers are in place. WEIRD! Any thoughts?

    small magnets. if you take them away and degauss the problem should eventually clear up. if you can't degauss, turing the monitor on automatically degauss's.
