money
I dont care about cost much, work, save, achieve.. easy peasy.. i dont care if you console gamers think of us as weak for spending 200+ with only 1 game in mention, you fail to realize our upgrade keeps us on high fly for another year or so. EVEN if ID doesnt take the lower end systems of the world in mind, i would buy it and upgrade just for the doom adventure, its like the old days, comin home from school, warmin up some hot chocolate or nabbin one of dads beers from the fridge, while waiting for 95 ta boot on the ol 486, nothing like tossin the backpack full of homework and playing wolfenstein or DOOM for a good 2 or 3 hours.. hell if i didnt.. id be one bastard to fellow family members..
Lets face it, we all want to do that again, live that adventure! accept the new doom and play it just because you played the old ones, and let nothing STOP YOU! NOTHING!

Awesome.
In a way, console gamers do the same thing by buying a $200+ console system with only a few games in mind, but it ends up being even more useful in the long run.

one of things that made me decide on a GC is that supposedly nintendo plans on having a long system life, at least 5 more years. that remains to be seen, but i like the idea of getting my moneys worth on a console instead of a new one every 3rd year.
